Musculoskeletal complaints are widespread and highly relevant stress-related consequences calling for the detailed exploration of antecedents. We propose that illegitimate tasks (i.e., do not conform to an employee’s occupational role) constitute one these work-related This study further examines whether associated with concerns about deteriorating working conditions (qualitative job insecurity) as a mechanism leading musculoskeletal pain. hypothesis was tested in German longitudinal sample 109 employees using time lag six weeks. Supporting our assumptions, results revealed indirect effect qualitative insecurity on relationship between pain controlling initial level The underlying effects remained significant under control age, sex, type contract. To best knowledge, this is first show predict by raising future deterioration conditions. Especially when it seems unavoidable assign correspond role, supervisors should make sure distributed fairly among team members conveyed appreciative manner.
